The West Indies has found a new #6 batsman---Denesh Shoppy Ramdin. In 6 innings batting at #6 Ramdin has scored 258 runs at an average of 51.60 with 1 hundred and 1 fifty.
One thing is crystal clear about Ramo----since he got married he has been focused like a laser on his cricket----he has put in the extra effort in his batting.
Not sure we should get too carried away but suffice to say since the England series in 2012 he has averaged, per series, 41 England, 9 NZ, 81 Bangladesh, 62 Zim in this series.
Now that is ok and it is about time he performs.
I do get a tad concerned when I hear it said Windies are vastly improved.
All they have done in Tests is beat Bangladesh, the Kiwis and now the Zims in Tests.
Prior to Sammy becoming Captain, did the Windies lose against these teams? I know the Kiwis were a bit stronger some time ago...
I could start a thread, but could not be arsed, hence the question.
All this instability for nada.

There is nothing wrong with acknowledging Ramo's recent test scores---here are his last 7 scores:
107*, 3, 15, 126*, 5, 31, 62
Most importantly, Ramo has put extra effort into his cricket the past year and is more focused than ever---looks like he is taking a page out of the book of the great Shiv Chanderpaul----good for him.
Although we had already won the series, he scored a ton against us which was a very good one with great temperament.
There has been a greater resolve about Ramdin in the last 18 months or so and although he cannot help the opposition in front of him, he has to do it against the bigger boys. He started with us and until such time he faces better opposition, I reserve judgement.
However I am supporting him to so do and Pakistan up next so we will see.
