The sharply divided US Congress has been able to agree on one thing at least -

that the world "lunatic" should be banned..... ::rofl::

"Lunatic" is derived from the Latin word for moon :

and the belief that it could affect mental health  :wink:

The House of Representatives voted 398-1 on Wednesday

to strike the term from all federal legislation :

after the Senate did the same in May.

Lunatics were people that meets under the moonlight in the old days  for social activities and there were no connotation that they were crazy .
This I gleaned from studying Silas Marner by  George Eliot in primary school . It was only later that  the word Lunatic  was associated with mad people
