Plus it was a very hurried written speech :

The gall of the chap ...he only had a Victory speech prepped  ::eek::

Hence the delay in conceding !

sounded to me like the acceptance speech, slightly altered ...

The pollsters were telling Mittballs this was "neck and neck" "a virtual tie" etc.  Some were even saying that the electoral votes would be 269 each.  So it is little wonder he was so optimistic or if you will, deluded, that he felt he would win. ::lol::

He didn't thank Bill Clinton on stage in his victory speech but the first phone call he made (after Romney called him to concede) was to Bill Clinton, and it was to thank him.

Oh and by the way guys, I thought Romney's concession speech was very classy.  Didn't expect that from him at all.  Kinda makes you wonder whether if he was as classy and sincere during the campaign as he was during that concession speech, this election result might just have been different.

If the same moderate Romney, who was Governor of Mass., showed up during the campaign he would have won.

Instead , Romney morphed into this right wing neo conservative who seemed out of touch with the common people.  Even some of the conservatives were not sure which Romney they were voting for!

Romney avoided those issues.

Gays, Lesbians , Hispanics and the Young voters ..

It was de Backlash of a backlash !

But that's the problem with the Republicans at the moment Googs.  Their presidential candidate cannot win the primary without aligning him or herself to that far right fascist neo-con element of the party.  It then makes it impossible for their presidential candidate to go back to the centre and run for president as a "moderate".
