He didn't thank Bill Clinton on stage in his victory speech but the first phone call he made (after Romney called him to concede) was to Bill Clinton, and it was to thank him. :yeti:

Oh and by the way guys, I thought Romney's concession speech was very classy.  Didn't expect that from him at all.  Kinda makes you wonder whether if he was as classy and sincere during the campaign as he was during that concession speech, this election result might just have been different.

I didn't actually fault him for delaying the concession. He was just being prudent especially with Ohio and Florida still very close in numbers.  But that speech was, even if written by a handler, was classy.  He still has to read it and approve it.  I've seen concession speeches where the loser comes off as just bitter and cold ie. McCain in 2008. 

But this was different.  It was gracious, but more importantly, he conceded clearly and unequivocally so that there was finality to this election (in the minds of his supporters) right there and then.

Plus it was a very hurried written speech :

The gall of the chap ...he only had a Victory speech prepped  ::eek::

Hence the delay in conceding !
