Yoga is as Hindu as singing Christmas carols is Christian. At one level, both are relaxing exercises. But both are strongly rooted in spirituality. Yoga is not a series of exercises -- it's a step to spiritual discipline. It's fine that religious supremacist reject it, but to gloss over the Hindu roots of yoga is rank intellectual dishonesty.

Yoga does nothing for a person's religious belief .

It is a romantic western love affair that has made it into a Fad !

Like any other Fashion , it changes with the Season...

Like the Jewish tingy that Madonna and others practice .

Forgot its name !

i hate when muslims act so fucking stupid and then broadcast it for the world to know.

I do a Yoga class after my spin class on thursday nights and its fantastic.

We do not chant 'Ohm' or meditate or even say "Namaste"ย  - even if i say Namaste...i dont know how that denounces me as a Muslim since I greet my mamoo with "Namaste" all the time.

some of these muslim ppl need a good effing slap up the head.

Not usually thinking "GOD" when I join in on Rudolph the Rednose Reindeer.

its not a fashion. Yoga is practiced as a regular mainstream exercise and even mixed with Pilates. it will never fade away.

Yoga can be totally isolated from any form of religion. I studied and practiced a form of yoga called Assanas - postures. Each posture was designed to exercise and improve health. There was no chanting. I look at a lot of much of yoga today as something cultural, related to lifestyles, etc. That is why it is being criticilzed. And correctly; yoga(Assanas) is about health of the body first and foremost.
