post here if you believe i have influenced you to believing this kid was shot b/c he was wearing a hoodie.

i have always loved the sweaters with hoods.  it keeps me warm. i see it as practical winter wear.

try going to an NFL game without a hoodie. you would have a shivering day

i can wear a china fur hat and keep warm too... hoodies don't keep my head warm enough... 

or my Trapper fur hat...

It's never simple, and I see both sides of the coin. Each is stretching the meaning to cover his or her own biases. As a former high school teacher, I know people wore hoodies and "hid" their identities by pulling the hoods over their head. In my school there were white guys who did this, too, although I do remember seeing more black guys doing it. We didn't allow students to wear hats or headgear unless it was for a religious purpose. We need to know who is doing what to whom for the sake of safety for the larger population. This is the underlying issue: Safety for the larger population. People who hide their faces represent danger, whether it be a red bandana handkerchief, a pillow case, a stocking or ski mask, a Ku Klux Klan white sheet or a hoodie. If I can't see your face, and you're in my space, I'm going to err on the side of saving my life, dude! I don't care what color you are.
