PRESIDENT Dr. Irfaan Ali on Friday commissioned the new facility now housing Citizens Bank in the township of Bartica, describing the investment as a strong vote of confidence in the future of Region Seven and Guyana’s expanding economy.

Addressing the opening ceremony, the President said the modern facility would enhance access to banking services for residents and businesses while supporting the region’s continued growth.

“This new facility can only enhance the quality of service provided not only to the people of Bartica but also to the surrounding communities. It signals confidence in the future of this region and confidence in the future of Guyana,” he said.

The new branch marks a major milestone for Citizens Bank, which first established operations in Bartica on April 3, 2000, from a modest 938-square-foot office staffed by eight employees.
