A Guyanese pharmacist, who is working in Trinidad, has been severely beaten by her common-law husband, officials said Tuesday.
Injured is Farah Aziman Yassem of Skeldon, Corentyne Berbice. She graduated with an Associate Degree in Pharmacy from the University of Guyana in 2002.
A Trinidad and Tobago Police Service spokewoman told Demerara Waves Online News that the Trinidadian man has been arrested.
The circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known.
TV6 Crime Watch news programme Monday night showed footage of the battered woman and the police whisking away the accused, said to be a taxi driver.
