Lin leads knicks to victory

Lin’s fourth-quarter, pull-up 3-pointer over Dirk Nowitzki was not the most important shot Sunday afternoon, but it was perhaps the most impactful, and it said everything about Lin’s professional growth spurt, his instant stardom and his uncanny comfort under pressure.

In a nationally televised game, against the defending N.B.A. champions, Lin rose ever higher, hitting that shot and many more, leading the Knicks to a 104-97 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.       

Lin had 28 points and again set a new high in assists, with 14, as the Knicks registered their most significant win of the season. The Knicks (16-16) have now won eight of their last nine games, all since Lin became their primary point guard.

an offensive headline referring to Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin.

The headline "Chink in the Armor"

was used Friday on ESPN's mobile website after Lin had nine turnovers in

New York's loss to New Orleans.
