I don't know if it is a written rule

it might be a very old unwritten one

its the whole idea of white in the hot summer sun....keeping you nice and cool!!!

because when i go away during the winter to the tropics....i always take my whites....pants, Ts, sandals, swimsuits/coverups.....the whole shebang!!!

I really  dont care ....I have worn Whites year round :

Thanks folks.  You all made me feel much better.  This means I can now wear my lime green sweater.  I never pay attention to colors for seasonal wear, just fabrics - no cords in summer, no drills in winter.
