Both Ishant Sharma and Ricky Ponting made it to the middle of the Optus Perth Stadium at different points on Thursday. Ponting, who is part of one of the many commentary panels for the series, strode out a few minutes into Australia's practice session and had lengthy chats with a number of key batsmen in the side. He also spent some time exchanging batting tips with a couple of the team management personnel before bouncing around a footy ball with head coach Justin Langer, incidentally right under the Justin Langer Stand.
