The week is kicking off with a slow and wet commute: Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for the City of Toronto and the surroundings areas due to the risk of freezing drizzle and light snow.
Environment Canada says any snowfall this morning will likely be limited to a few centimetres and the drizzle should be slight, but the combination could result in slippery roads. They say commuters from the Halton, Peel, York and Durham regions as well as within Toronto proper should take extra care on their way to work.
It is predicted to be cloudy throughout the day, with the temperature holding steady around 3 C. There is a 60 per cent chance of the light snow turning into showers this evening. The clouds should clear away Tuesday afternoon, when the temperature is predicted to rise two more degrees. However, there will also be a 60 per cent chance of flurries.
Temperatures throughout the week are projected for the most part to stay above the freezing mark, but the chances of snow climb throughout the week to peak at 70 per cent on Friday.
