There is no doubt that some issues lies with the administration but that is not the only reason. Ask any young player in the Caribbean and let them answer honestly what is their ambition for the game and most of them will tell you to play in the IPL.


The motivation to develop real skills and and craftsmanship is lost. Almost every young player wants to get some recognition and then deviate to the shorter form of the game where there is money to be made.


Cricketers of the caliber of Shiv Chanderpaul are no longer evident. Young players do not have the burning desire to truly represent the Caribbean side to show their talent and love for the game.


It is all about making money. I know many people may not share the same view but i strongly feel this way.

Very good point right there @Ray, but even if most players just want the money (they are professional after all), I don't know how that improves the performance of the administration. Sure, they just want money too haha, but they have to strive for the development of the sport.
