State of emergency declared for Florida

"Do not go on the beach. This will kill you," Florida Gov. Rick Scott warned Thursday. "Unfortunately, this is going to kill people."

I hope people pay attention to the warnings. When you have a lot of warnings, you sometimes get to the point where you start to ignore them. I hope nobody is complacent for this one and that they get out of Dodge.

It's better to be safe than sorry. Plus, you don't want others to risk their lives coming back to rescue you when you should have evacuated.
