The GCB/CGI Jaguars 3 Day League, second round of matches commences Friday 2 September, 2016 from 09:30 hours at four (4) venues across the country. The semi-professional league will see:

East Coast Demerara contesting Upper Corentyne at the Enterprise Community Centre ground (note venue change).
West Demerara competing with Upper Demerara/ East Bank at the Everest Cricket Club (note venue change).
Lower Corentyne doing battle with Georgetown at the Albion Community Centre ground.
Essequibo challenging West Berbice at the Young Warriors Cricket Club ground, in Cumberland, Berbice.
Historically, the GCB featured 3 teams in their premiere Inter county tournament, and then shifted its attention to include a fourth team, from which the GCB has now expanded its wings to have eight selected teams from across the country compete among and against each other. This format has allowed for non-contracted players to have the opportunity to compete for a place in the Guyana senior team under Pay for Play, and to vie for future player contracts. The Jaguars league system is also built on the participation of quality and experience players and the encouraging existence of a semi-professional system.

During the first round of matches, Lower Corentyne and East Coast emerged victorious over Essequibo and West Demerara respectively, while the matches played between Upper Demerara/East Bank and Georgetown at Everest Cricket Club ground, and West Berbice and Upper Corentyne at Young Warriors Cricket Club ground, ended prematurely due to persistent rainfall on the third and final day of play.

Jonthan Foo was among the highlights of the first round by registering the first century of the Jaguars 3 Day League with an attractive 152, while Veerasammy Permaul had a match haul 10 for 80, whereas, Gudakesh Motie, Ameer Khan and Raymon Reifer each took 5 wickets hauls.
