Quote:The United States of America, a land with a population of over 300 million, many of them sports-loving, is stacked with those not interested in the great game. And so the challenge of those seeking to spread cricket in the country is this: how do we tap into this potentially huge and well-off market?

One of the steps in that direction might be to increase the visibility of cricket in the country. Exposure stirs interest. It is the first step towards gaining converts to your cause. "Do you know what's going on?" one policeman was asked. "I have an idea," he replied, "I was here for the CPL (Caribbean Premier League) games and some of the fans were explaining the game to me. It's pretty exciting." He seemed slightly interested in the proceedings in the middle too

Getting Americans interested in cricket has to be part of the vision for growing the sport in America. There is a readymade market made up mainly of immigrant families from cricket-playing countries. As Dhoni joked, referring to the Indian contingent that made up the vast majority of the crowd, "even if we're playing in Bermuda Triangle, they'll be there." It would've been great though to have more native-born Americans there with no previous ties to the game.

zac, lemme fix this for you :

is stacked with those : Fast food lovers that supersizes and are obese !

Cricket therefore, stands no chance as T20 format really is :

a Slogfest duplicating Bizbol

where a 90-100+ metre SIX is called a Home RUN  Wink

#4
and 9 Innings (excluding a tie game extra innings)

both games are approximately 3 hours long

both games use a Bat and a Ball and Back stopper !

Field placements are both : out field and infield.

T20 Cricket has an inside Circle for 6 overs duration (silly, really)
