Since 2000, England have batted first at Edgbaston on 5 occasions. They have lost 3 and won 2. The last time England batted first at Edgbaston prior to this Test was back in 2008 when they lost to
South Africa. Overall, teams batting first since 2000 have lost 8, drawn 3 and won 2.
Since 2005, only one team has posted a score of 300+ in the first innings of a Test match here -
West Indies in 2012.
