WI Needs Refurbished Bowling Attack

West Indies lacking heft & depth. Pity so many good players not available or not picked. Meanwhile a revised batting order could be of help

The trouble with this lineup is Holder would serve as the third seamer - which is sub-optimal. But to add an extra seamer to the team, you would have to drop Chase, and weaken the batting further.

the west indies team is a jackass team selected to suit the political needs of the wicb bureaucracy..and only incidentally cricket.

that is the problem with a whole lot of senior players left out who could have made a difference in this test/series.

what we are left with is picking ridiculous players who cant win, and who know they cant win and why they are on the team...for wicb political reasons.  they know its a corrupt mess and that fact does not assist them in being a legit team, solid, a knitted and tuff, fighting outfit capable of playing better than the sum of its parts, giving all and every opposition plenty trouble even if they lose in the end mostly for the moment.

that is... west indies cricket is a corrupt, totally exploited mess that has no respect for itself, degraded players who do not feel part of the project they are involved in..that it is going anywhere positive. they can see and know the corruption in the regional game..the most egregious of which is the tandem Whinds and Skameron colluding to keep the players financial compensation the lowest of the low in the world.

and I suppose by now that Whinds has manipulated the WIPA in such ways that he can never lose the leadership of that association.

so west indies cricket is stuck with the two most corrupt men ever in leadership positions forever, grinding our game into the dust..while the west indian political leadership sit and watch playing, legal games that takes forever to be resolved..while west indies cricket burns to the ground.

were they serious about correcting west indies cricket problem all they have to do is make both whinds and skameron leave by making the region unlivable for them.  its a simple matter indeed: resign and dissolve and go wherever you can find something else to do.  then reconstitute the cricket administration.

no lil minnow NGO bureaucrat should be able to thumb his nose at west indian political leadership, with total immunity, opposed to the general regional interest..while the activity which he is a part of, leads in fact....an activity crucial to the region,  is brutalized, destroyed, eliminated

I don't see how a good team can be put on the field to play decent cricket given first, the the general rotten emanating from Factory Road that engulfs the team...

and secondly a bunch of poor players, minus the better senior players to help them forward..led by a total incompetent Holder, completely out of his depth ad player and captain..owing his position not to ability but to the political requirements of the wicb.

this was my argument from the start relative to Holder..that he is not a good player who is worth a place on the team to begin with.  and secondly hat he is unlikely to ever be such a player

Holder is what 24-25 now?  he has been in the west indies teams now since he was 19. he has not improved in 5 years to an extent that makes him qualified to be in the team far less to be its captain.

Holder is captain because through him the team can be controlled by Skameron and in no way capable of opposing wicb exploitation of the cricket..as Bravo, Ramdin etc were capable of doing and doing

that is the criteria that also underpins the selection of officials at the wicb, especially of the selectors.  the selectors must be lackeys...lickspittle administrative officers... who toe skamerons line..or be shown the door. 

dat is why we have Skourtney Brown as Chairman of selectors, whose skill at judging talent is so great we get Carlos and  Jason on the same team, at the same time. Brown is an incompetent and an extreme Bajan nationalist selecting Bajan players who are not better than those they replace.

and for such as Skourtney Jason Holder is an untouchable on the team when he should not even be water carrier.  I would opt for the return of Darren Sammy over Holder.  Sammy is better in every aspect of the game than Holder will ever be.  it is time for Holder to return to university to complete his degree and go on to some white collar job in the region..hopefully not at the wicb

well..one of the things they can do to get rid of skameron is to have a proper audit done of the wicb..a deep forensic audit going back at least 15 years ...or better 20.

its just a matter of time. West Indies know the pitches much better then the Indians and eventually they are going to exploit this fact.

If it were a bad couple of days at work does not mean the west Indies bowlers do not know how to bowl.

I am waiting for a good fight ahead in the coming watches.

People tend to over react to things and especially in sport. Just because players aren't performing to the level we know that they can, all of a sudden doesn't mean that they are no classed as rubbish players. Some players just have off days or even off tournaments but will come back to bowl better than they ever have before, and I think to write them off just on a couple of bad performances isn't justified.

Perhaps it might be worthwhile to do some research before making such a blanket statement. It wasn't just one bad performance from the bowlers. Over the last 5 years, West Indies bowlers have the second highest collective team bowling average (37.28). Only Bangladesh have a higher bowling average.

Over the last 2 years, West Indies has the highest bowling average at 43.03. Their bowling has been a problem for a long time now. It is not just "a couple of bad performances".



You continue to make observations that are not based in reality. Why not take the five-minutes to do the research first before making a statement that is so patently false? It would help to improve the level of discourse.
