My word ! only Gayle is a Winner while chasing for West Indies ????

no wonder we could NOT qualify as a Top 8 ODI Nation  >Sad

Bevan, Dhoni and ABDV dont appear on the above screenshots because they haven't compiled enough runs. Their averages are great, though, and they're (along with Kohli) generally regarded as the best finishers, though Dhoni mostly scores in the subcontinent. ABDV averages in the 80s in successful chases.

Also Jeff Dujoin has the highest number of ODI games won whilst being NOT OUT as a finisher: 31 (67 percent win rate as finisher).

This is, bizzarely, better than everyone else in the history of cricket.

In comparison, Lara has 27 in about 200 games. In 400+ games, Tendulkar only has 25.

Gayle's chasing average (38) is pretty bad considering this is a batting era. A 38 today is about a 29 in the 1990s. When contemporary WI win, though, it's because of Gayle (55+ average in wins).

I think you're reading the stats wrong. You can't tell who has a better win ratio from those stats.

These are the stats you're looking for:

Gayle has played 269 ODI games and won 109. He has a 40.5 win percentage and averages 51 in those wins.

Gayle has played 269 ODI games and won 63 vs non minnows. He has a win percentage of 28 and averages 40 in those wins.

Lara played 299 ODI games and won 142. He has a 47.5 win percentage and averages 61 runs in those wins.

Gayle's playing in an era in which averages have gone up, batting has been easier and WI play lots of minnows (Zim, Canada, Ireland, Bangladesh, Scotland). A 40 average in WINS is pretty bad for a modern ODI batsman. Marlon Samuels, for example, averages 48 in wins vs non minnows, compared to Gayle's 40.

Generally, your win average should be 20+ runs more than you're career average. Gayle's only goes up by a run or two.
