24 years ago, Imran Khan retired in style, hoisting the World Cup trophy. A loss that still hurts. Though in fairness, that Pakistan team was absolutely stacked.

What a memorable World Cup that was. Still one of my favourites. The first World Cup to feature coloured clothing, floodlights, white balls and fielding restrictions. The brilliance of Martin Crowe, Botham still doing his thing even at the age of 36. the emergence of Eddo Brandes, a chicken farmer from Mashonaland and the cruelty of Messrs Duckworth-Lewis.

That Pak team was leagues apart from the current Pak. Pak always had great pace bowlers. Imran Khan was a great captain. It is disheartening to see that Pak is out of the tournament today with just a single win against the Ban

The 1992 World Cup song:

Not bad as World Cup songs go. Catchy enough chorus. Try not having that stuck in your head for the rest of the dayย  ;D
