All Brathwaite does is score runs. I am still fully on board the Brathwaite bandwagon. Top class player.

It is good to see that Shai Hope's tough start to his international career hasn't scarred him. While there is obviously a major gulf in competition at the domestic level, he continues to score runs and has only just turned 22. There is still plenty of time for him to develop.

Two questions I have: Does Cheesy Singh have any chance of an international call up? And how good is Roston Chase? His numbers look very solid and would appear he is at least a useful spinner to boot. Could he potentially be a replacement for Marlon Samuels?

As an aside, does anyone know how tall Chase is? Of the video footage I have seen of him, he looks absolutely massive. All arms and legs.

Devon Smith and Leon Johnson were brought in to play in the tour of South Africa. Devon, based on a good domestic season, was selected to open. Leon filled in for Darren Bravo, who was at home crying. Everyone failed on that tour, but Leon nevertheless had 2 decent starts. He also looked solid and very patient.

Because Darren Bravo came back for England's tour of WI, Johnson, his replacement, got dropped. The smart thing to do was to drop Smith and let Johnson open, but I suspect the selectors were giving Smith rope to hang himself so they wouldn't have to ever select him again (the guy keeps topping the averages domestically).

Then Johnson started sucking domestically (a 30 average), and the Bajan pose (who were topping the averages) leap-frogged into Shiv and Gayle's spots. Now Leon's back at the top end of the domestic averages. I bet he gets picked for the international team soon.

If Gayle has retired from tests, and if you drop Ramdin, you can play something like this:

Brathwaite
Leon
Samuels
Darren
Chase? Deo? Hope?
Singh? Blackwood?
Dowrich? (wk)
Permaul
Bishoo
Taylor
Badree/Motie/Warrican/Narine/Holder/Gabriel/Some fast bowler
