Quote:And so, former and likely future West Indies opening batsman Kieran Powell has returned to cricket. Representing the Leeward Islands in a recent outing against Guyana in the West Indies’ Premier Cricket League (PCL), the left-hander scored 55 at faster than a run-a-ball. Importantly, he was as upright and as elegant as ever, striking seven fours and a six. It was as if he never left.
You seem to have much more knowledge on the subject than me. I was just writing about the difficulty I thought he faced pursuing baseball and that I think he could still be valuable to WI.

In a lengthy statement outlining his case, Powell claimed the director of cricket Richard Pybus
accused him of “walking off the job†and insisted that unless he provided him with
written details of the personal issue that prompted his decision , his chance of getting back
into the West Indies team would be compromised.

zac , baseball try out followed after the exile to sri Lanka .
What I was really trying to say was that his switch to baseball was ill advised since he was unlikely to make it. The fact he is now back in cricket might suggest that cricket was not made unavailable to him. I read of some of the circumstances surrounding his departure from cricket. Very troubling and controversial but also very strange. And since there were two different sides as I remember it, it was hard to get at the undisputed truth.
