Batting at Number 3!

Ian Chappell: Unless you're a born opener, No. 3 is the best place to bat.

Do you agree with Chappell's opinion?

No ...Openers are not Born

and we all know of the many instances where # 3 actually opens

"going in early is no bad thing. The bowlers are still working their way into a spell and you are mentally fresh."


I prefer to open or bat at 3.  I don't like batting down the order.

Interestingly, the majority of todays best batsman prefer batting at 4 - Root, Smith, Kohli, Younis Khan, Ross Taylor, ABdV and Chandimal.

Kane Williamson, Bravo and Amla do bat at 3. Smith also, though he admitted to preferring to bat at 4.

My preference as well .

IF not opening , bat at 4 !
