The Real Corruption in Football

Reports have confirmed FIFA's decision to withhold Ten million US dollars each from Concacaf and Comebol.
I have always maintained that this so called corruption witchhunt was pursued because two leading countries were not granted hosting of the 2018 and 2022 World Cup. These countries  are part of a group of countries who believes that they are the masters of the sport.
Sepp Blatter and company was targeted, not mainly because of corruption, but mostly because he was spreading the wealth from football too far and wide, trying to improve the status of football in  the lesser developed countries.
I am not disputing that there was corruption, however, it was allowed to  continue for years as long as business was conducted in a way that pleased the self-proclaimed Masters.
They got rid of Mr. Blatters regime, and now we see the Association withholding funds from two of its member regions, which of consists of many lower level footballing nations.
I think this is just the beginning of the of a move to starve these nations of resources and more similar actions will follow. Mark my word, the real corruption as now begun.

It didn't get the US anything in the end did it? The fact is that they are making up stories on the fly about FIFA, not that its hard, just shows you how desperate they are to rebuild their infrastructure. Bringing the soccer cup to the US would have meant an amazing amount of inflow of money for revamping every aspect of the infrastructure. Today when you drive from Newark to NY, all you find are potholes. The bridges, the stadiums, all could do well with the absurd amount of money that flows in with the world cup. But, it simply does not make sense for the world cup to be held in the US. Less than 24 million Americans have played soccer let alone be fans of it. The world cups are still going to be held in Qatar and Russia, even after all the arm twisting.
