Pennsylvania’s celebrity groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, popped out of his hole, saw no shadow, and forecast a short winter this year, according to rodent translators. The annual Groundhog Day ceremony was the 130th prediction by Phil and his ancestors. Unfortunately, the National Centers for Environmental Information says that past weather data hasn’t been recently consistent with Phil’s prognostications.
Oh man, I always seem to forget about Groundhog Day. I hope that we get some good news and the weather complies, because I am getting pretty tired of the winter and all the snow that we have gotten this year. We all know that it also gives us a reason to watch a pretty classic movie starring Bill Murray, which I will be doing later.
