A good showing yesterday for three of the English players in this years BBL. Luke Wright and Michael Lumb excelled with the bat and David Willey starred with the ball. It is great to see Willey squaring up against the games elite T20 cricketers and bowling well. One would imagine that regardless of how Wright and Lumb perform in this years BBL they are unlikely to gain a spot in the T20 World Cup squad with some combination of Hales, Roy and Vince opening the batting.

That Melbourne Stars team is a scary proposition to bowl at. They have some real thumpers in that squad with Maxwell, KP, Wright, Hussey and Faulkner.

An amazing crowd last night at the MCG for a BBL game ....  an outstanding 80,000+ spectators !!  Unbelievable !!!  cricket in all forms of the game alive and well in AUS !!

Surprising that the incoherent timmyj hasn't commented on this record breaking attendance !!!  ::yawn:: :o

A big win for the Strikers over the Perth Scorchers. It was a tale of two differing fortunes for the two England bowlers on display. Willey took an absolute hammering while Rashid was the pick of the bowlers for Adelaide. Mahela turned back the clock with his knock. Vintage Jayawardene showing he still has something left in the tank.

Huge win for the Strikers last night and even bigger crowd at Adelaide Oval than the New Years Eve match ...... 46,600+ great for domestic cricket.  Great move to have Mahela open the batting!!![I]

Tonight's match with Tasmania Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars was a good low scoring game... The Big Show aka Glen Maxwell did well ... played a very sensible innings. Melbourne Stars won by 8 wickets ....
