Headley was sentenced in the US in 2013 on 12 counts, including conspiracy to aid militants from the Pakistani group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) which India blames for carrying out the attacks.

After initially denying the charges, he eventually pleaded guilty and co-operated with the US to avoid the death penalty and extradition to India.

He admitted to scouting potential target locations in Mumbai ahead of the attacks.

Headley was born Daood Gilani to a Pakistani father and American mother but changed his name to David Coleman Headley in 2006 "to present himself in India as an American who was neither Muslim nor Pakistani", US prosecutors had said.

Headley is alleged to have told US prosecutors that he had been working with LeT since 2002.

The Los Angeles Unified School District closed all schools Tuesday due to a “credible terror threat” that officials told KTLA they recieved. A bomb threat was called in to a district board member, police told the Los Angeles Times. During a LAUSD press conference, officials said that "out of abundance of caution," the entire district has been closed after an "electronic threat" was sent to authorities.

This is now unfortunately the sad reality that we live in...where life, liberty and pursuit of happiness is fraught with danger from folks with unsound minds, who have no respect for anything human.

I wonder who are these folks? Well, lets take a guess here... Them never come out to protest when innocent homeowners are murdered and violated....but now that two of these perps are eliminated, they crying foul. Interesting!

Political Party condemns shooting of bandits in South Ruimveldt

[inewsguyana.comHome - INews Guyana] – The Organization for the Victory of the People (OVP) says it vehemently condemns what it described as the “executions” of Tucville youths, Edgar Blackman and Sherwin James.

James and Blackman were killed during a police shootout last Wednesday in South Ruimveldt. OVP in a statement on Monday, December 14 said that the “situation on the streets requires urgent, immediate and decisive action.”

“We are being told that Operation Dragnet is successful, but who are the people that the net has been dragging in? Based on our evidence, gathered in various communities, one particular section of the society is being stereotyped and targeted,” the statement noted.

The Party claimed too that from eyewitness accounts, the two Tucville youths slain by the police had surrendered but nevertheless were executed.

“We have seen many years of extra-judicial killings in Guyana, reaching a peak number under Bharrat Jagdeo’s presidency. OVP is calling for an immediate end to the state-sanctioned policy of extra-judicial killings in Guyana.”

OVP is also describing the current state of affairs as a form of “state-sanctioned gang warfare, which perpetuates a death squad mentality and OVP is calling for its immediate dismantling.”

The government is being asked to order an immediate halt to extra-judicial killings and “to declare their firm and unanimous commitment to the principle that Black Lives Matter.”
