I have mixed emotions on Johnson retiring. On one hand, I am thrilled that England will no longer have to face him. He was without question one of the fiercest fast bowlers of his generation that could turn a Test match and series on its head in the space of a 20-minute spell. His Ashes performance in 2013/2014 was one for the ages.

On the other hand, Johnson retiring is bad for the game. Not only was he one of the games best quick bowlers, he played the role of pantomime villain to perfection. He was one of those few players you would turn on the TV just to watch him bowl. It didn't matter the opposition or the format of the game - you knew that Mitchell Johnson had the ability to do something magical with a cricket ball.

Well maybe he will have a  3rd miraculous coming

His 2nd coming after being ruled out of the game was indeed, a Miracle !

Johnson's 8-for-61 against South Africa were the most wickets in an innings by a left-arm fast bowler.

Like a Phoenix .. with Lillee's input and training !!

Still a surprise as to why he retired from international cricket.  If he's available for BBL ....... Adelaide Strikers very interested......
