Former NFL quarterback Erik Kramer was injured in an apparent suicide attempt, law enforcement sources and his ex-wife said Wednesday. Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were called to a motel in Calabasas for a welfare check Tuesday night, when they found 50-year-old Kramer with a gunshot wound, according to a source. The gunshot wound was described as not life-threatening. Kramer’s former wife, Marshawn Kramer, confirmed to NBC News that it was a suicide attempt and that Kramer suffered years of depression following his NFL career.
