India won the toss and elected to bat

Murali Vijay was able to recover in time from his hamstring injury and replaces the injured Dhawan to partner Rahul at the top of the order. Stuart Binny and Umesh Yadav also come into the side for Harbhajan Singh and Varun Aaron. Nuwan Pradeep misses out for Sri Lanka and is replaced by Dushmantha Chammera.

It was great to see Sangakkara receive a guard of honour. Massive respect, and rightly deserved.

This might not have been a bad toss to lose for Sri Lanka. Teams batting first have won 5 matches and lost 9. And just as I type that, Vijay goes in the first over. India 4/1 as Prasad strikes.

...

It's all going on early in this Test match, Rahane comes in ahead of Sharma at three, while Angelo Mathews has taken the new ball at the other end for Sri Lanka.

#4
Prasad gets another. Rahane goes playing a very poor shot with a distinct lack of footwork. India wobbling early. 12/2. Sri Lanka will be thrilled with this start having been asked to bowl first.

#5
Good recovery from India. 239/4. A patient century from Rahul, while Kohli contributed a swashbuckling 78. Rohit Sharma has got off to a good start too, unbeaten on 36.

#6
Nice recovery by India

319 - 6

87.2
Mathews to RG Sharma, OUT, at the fag end of the day Sri Lanka claw back into the match with the wicket of Rohit Sharma.

Fair decision from Oxenford. Similar to how Mathews got him out in the first innings of the first Test

Sharma lbw b Mathews 79

Damn..I hate this RG Sharma guy.He runs into a bad patch and plays well just when talks on him being dropped from team become louder.
Oh,not to forget Rahul's 100.Kudos to him.

#9
Good recovery by the Indian team after such a poor start. I am still favoring Sri Lanka to win this match and take the series with one match left to play in the series.

#10
Ashwin straight drives Mathews for a couple to get off the mark. India 321/6 (88 overs)
