Quote:Problems are never far away in West Indies cricket; they have come in profusion for two decades now. The latest is the real possibility of failure to qualify for the 2017 Champions Trophy in England, and the fallout that could follow.
As tenuous as it has become and as demeaning as it is for a team that that once utterly dominated the international game, West Indies value their status among the top eight international teams more than ever. To be absent in England two years hence would further damage the already diminishing interest of players and public, both now under the spell of T20.
there are a ton of assumptions and statemenets in there that these days demands some support
'for the last 2 decades trouble never far from the surface'ย why tony..care to spec ::confused::
'west indies value their status in the top 8 more than ever'ย really tony ::confused::ย you really going to have to try to prove that tony.ย that claim cries out for proof. why........?
because if it really benefited those who run west indies to be in the top 8 they would be making every effort not only to be in the top 8 but at the top of 8. but they are not are they...making such effort. and if not why not....... ::confused::
they only possible answer is that whatever goals and benefit they have in mind are met in other directions..that cricket success for the west indies is not a priority for them so their consequent effort to produce success is miniscule
