The official, who agreed to divulge these plans under the condition of anonymity, also says that the party will stage a picketing exercise Wednesday in front of Parliament building in protest of what it says was the rigging of Elections 2015.  “Were don’t plan to turn up, were not going to go,” the official told Demerara Waves Online News under the condition of anonymity. This disclosure puts an end to weeks of speculation as to whether not the party will attend at least the first sitting of the 11th Parliament. There is not yet an indication as to whether the boycott will continue beyond tomorrow’s sitting, and whether picketing exercises will also continue. Meanwhile, the PPPC is still yet to submit to the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) the names of the persons 32 who are to represent the party in the National Assembly in the 11thParliament, that is, if the party decides to participate in the 11th Parliament at all. In fact, Demerara Waves Online News is informed that the party’s list will not be submitted before or by tomorrow’s sitting. “It is not that we cannot find the names, it’s that there are a lot of names to consider, and we want to ensure the list is a reflection of the party,” the PPPC official explained. The A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) + Alliance for Change (AFC) coalition finally submitted the list of 33 names to of persons to fill its seats in the National Assembly.
