Efforts to improve drainage in the coming days would include the removal of an obstruction to the complete opening of the

Sussex Street sluice door and repairs to the revetment there to allow the free flow of water.

Giving an update on the state of the infrastructure, Engineer Walter Willis said the revetment at the Princess Street sluice

has also fallen into disrepair and was affecting the free flow of water.

During the meeting, the Mayor of Georgetown, Hamilton Green, disclosed that only two of their six pumps

- which are used to drain water off of the land when the sluice gates are closed- were functional.

The release said that it was agreed that the FAU will repair the Sussex Street pump,

which is expected to be operational by this evening.

a few years cleaning up PPP flith --

like the twenty on NCN payroll working at OP to create false fb accounts and post propoganda attacking indians

and cussing down bloggers (including Rohee daughter and kwame sister in law)

ooor the Guysuco where millions of hard working cane cutter benefit were not paid in since April

which means they have no benefits when they retire ....

or the billboards done by impression that Guywaa refuse to pay ( $7M) cause it was actually PPP campaign bill boards

and not GUYWA awareness billboards ...

As regards money spent on drainage, both Green and Williams said that of the $1.7 billion reported by the press

as having been spent by the government so far, none of it was given to the city.

Williams pointed out that some $26 million could have been given to replace the Kitty pump which is in dire need of replacement.
