* Like I mentioned in another thread, I won't be surprised to learn Shiv was told to announce his retirement and the WI would give him a farewell test.

* Shiv likely refused to announce his retirement and so he was dropped like he was in the onedayers.

* Oh well! Shiv ends his test career averaging 51.37---first Guyanese ever to average 50+ in tests.

The selectors basically told the new coach that they will select him and it is up to the coach to decide whether he will play or not. Shiv had a meeting with teh coach recently and no one is talking about what was said. That is why there are so many speculation. But I suspect you may be correct regarding the announcement of retirement.

Shiv is stubborn and will not simply disappear. Did you see him congratulating the new President of Guyana?

There is much left I. Shiv, I feel.

Shiv will hit two tons in the Aussie series and they will then have a dilemma as Shiv will never voluntarily retire.

If a selector listens to the supporters, sooner or later he will be sitting with them in the stand (FIRED!!)
