that would be 8 tests in a row of failure. that cannot be supported by any side at all for a player 40 years of age.
2 more out of respect for his career and his person as a sterling character in the game. but he must score to go on. or he scores, passes Lara and retires in glory.

* Shiv has been batting scared and tentative in his last 6 tests---3 versus SA and 3 versus England.
* Shiv averaged 18.20 in the 3 tests versus SA and 15.33 in the 3 tests versus England.
* At age 41 it's time for him to prepare for life after cricket. He would be lucky if the WICB grants him 2 more tests versus Australia.
* I BELIEVE IT'S ALL OVER FOR SHIV.
* He has had an outstanding career---time to go work for the Granger administration as a cricket coach.
* Shiv Chanderpaul's career has likely come to an end with him being the 7th highest run scorer in tests. Only Tendulkar, Ponting, Kallis, Dravid, Sangakkara and Lara have scored more test runs than Chanderpaul.
