Well it is all about entertainment and the Indian premier league is willing to pay them for that. The West Indies cricket board can no longer starve these players by not picking them to play for WI because they are in demand all over the world.

Rowe , the Board collects 10% of their earnings directly from the IPL and any odda slogfest League!

The Board therefore is in a win/win situation !

Collect 10% via the circus and give retainers to committed players of TEST cricket 

So the Mercenaries looking for big money cannot be controlled by the Board !

Sunil and Gayle refuse their W.I. retainer contracts : and I think Russel refused Lloyd's advance !

so other fresh bodies got in : Bishoo and Permaul and Blackwood and Shai Hope .


The Board then collect 10% of say 1.5 million dollars on Sunil and Onry heads OR  $150 thousand U.S.$$ .

AND we the Fans get to see young Cricket talent  8)
