Surely you know it would be an English loss.

As you said, at least mix up the prejudice a bit and make it 'fresh'.

Rowe is just another handle....

Not sure he knows who Smith is!

I understand this Graves' interview was on regional radion.

Have you heard it?

I did not hear the interview, Mail. I believe he gave the interview to BBC Radio Leeds. I checked the iPlayer to see if it has been archived but it doesn't appear so.

Do you think England can play both Stokes and Jordan in the same XI? In my opinion, playing both gives the team imbalanced feel, especially with Buttler batting at 8. I think Buttler is wasted at 8. I also thought it telling that Stokes was used sparingly with the ball though perhaps I am reading too much into this.

Buttler COST England a TEST match with piss poor work off a spinner on Blackwood !

Time to bring back a real Glove man !

Quote:Now Blackwood’s impetuosity arrived earlier than usual. Off his 18th ball, he charged at off-spinner Joe Root,

aiming somewhere in the direction of the Bridgetown port half-mile away, and missed.

Wicket-keeper Jos Buttler fluffed the stumping and, suitably alerted, Blackwood didn’t venture into cloud cuckoo land again.

Ian Bell " PAIR"  also need some examination ...

I think it is a good question and one the selectors will be faced with and I do not think you are reading too much into Stokes being used very sparingly.

I am not sure why he was not bowled more as I would say he is a bowling allrounder as is Jordan.

I think Moeen is at risk, which will allow Jos to go up the order.

I think both Stokes and Jordan can play depending on the conditions but who do I prefer?

I like Ben's batting but feel Jordan looks more penetrative as a bowler.

Shame we do not have a Richard Ellison type lurking in the background to be called in to take advantage of May's conditions with Jimmy.

I would not be surprised if the only change, in the playing 11 for the first NZ test, is Lyth for Trott.

If that is the case, I will have 6. Jos, 7. Mo, 8. Stokes.

I think you are right about the playing 11 against New Zealand and agree with your assessment of Stokes and Jordan. Stokes offers a better bat, Jordan better with the ball. The x-factor, if you will, is Jordan's slip catching ability though Stokes is no mug in the field. Stokes has a lot of potential but has been a bit of an enigma so far.

I do worry about our bowling, especially if Mo is off is game as he was for the last two Tests. Having Buttler bat 6 and Mo at 7 would allow us to play a specialized seamer such as Wood or Plunkett. Ultimately, though, as you suggest, I'd expect Lyth for Trott to be the only change and for Stokes to continue to get the chance to improve and impress.

Thanks for posting this list. My only guess is that there are concerns about the amount of cricket they will be playing this summer but really thought everyone, with the exception of Jimmy, could benefit from playing, especially Stokes and Jordan. Broad too as he had spurts of finding his old form but struggled with consistency.

I think Mo is far better than 7 and he should never have been seen as our specialist spinner because of a great series against India
Irregardless of India , Mo would be swapped for Adil as in Bishoo for Permaul    :-[
