Paint - opening is a tough job (is Gavaskar the only opener to average in the 50s?). Paint needs more time, but his run of low scores is worrying.
Hope - Should have debuted lower down the order. We don't know if he can bat yet.
Bravo - can't bat. Too scared. Needs to counterattack and hire a batting coach.
Samuels - a waste of time
Chanderpaul - I've never seen Shiv fail so consistently.
Ramdin - I'd drop him and find someone else.
Blackwood - this guy is hilarious. We know he can bat patiently and slowly. Today he counter-attacked like a madman. He's like a 2inch Viv Richards, hitting everything hard and in all directions. His teammates robbed him of a quick century. He now seems to have shots all around the wicket. His only weakness is his fondness for going airborne. Will the opposition figure him out? His scoring shots are rarely played along the ground. It's been years since I've seen a West Indian batsman play a test innings like this.
Holder - can he bat? Can he bowl? We're still not sure.
Permaul - like Bishoo, Permaul can bat. However he got carried away and over-confident and threw his wicket away. Everyone with cricket-sense knew Permaul should have played an anchor role, blocking cautiously so that Blackwood could make more runs.
Taylor - a total idiot. Instead of playing safely and letting Blackwood do the work, Taylor started slogging.
Gabriel - Looks like a sleepy version of Frankenstein's monster.
