RE: SHIV CHANDERPAUL

* Now that you have seen the meager performances of the outstanding batsmen above, you'll understandย  Shiv's current low scores.

* AGE CATCHES UP WITH MOST BATSMEN.

* Shiv will likely play one more test versus England and 2 versus Australia in June.

* Shiv's compatriot Kali and Kanhai did not score a fifty in their last 5 tests----it will be a miracle if Shiv scores a fifty in his remaining tests.

*Of course extraordinary greats like Lara, Richards and Sobers ended their last 5 tests averaging 50+

BRIAN LARA'S LAST 5 TESTS

SCORES: 10, 19, 26, 11, 61, 122, 216, 0, 49 = 514 runs = 57.11 average

Lara scored 2 hundreds and 1 fifty in his last 5 tests and averaged 57.11.

* Judging from the scores I have seen put up by greats like Tendulkar, Ponting and Kallis and by outstanding performers like Kanhai and Kali in their last 5 tests, I believe the probability of Shiv scoring 165 runs needed to reach 12,000 is close to zero.

* Right now Shiv(11,835) needs 119 runs to surpass Lara(11,953) as the highest test scorer by a West Indian----only an eternal OPTIMIST like Chairman would still believe Shiv will surpass Lara.

* Shiv has been getting out to 2nd string bowlers recently----Harmer, Treadwell, Root and Stokes----only a miracle will get Shiv to 12,000 test runs.
