It wasn't just a dominating performance by the bowlers either; West Indies lowest first innings score in the series was 307. Their average first innings total was 382. England's average first innings total was 207 - boosted largely by their 310 in the final Test.

Some batting averages from the '86 series:
Haynes: 78.17
Richards: 66.20
Richardson: 55.29
Harper: 50.00
Marshall: 38.25
Greenidge: 36.17

Gower was the only English batsman with an average above 30.

From the bowling side, Garner and Marshall took 27 wickets each at an average under 18.
