Chris Gayle a doubt for West Indies finale

Chris Gayle is a doubt for the West Indies’ do-or-die World Cup duel against the UAE on Sunday after struggling with a back injury.

The veteran opener did not train with the rest of the squad at Napier’s McLean Park on Wednesday, remaining at the team hotel to rest.

“We’d love him to play all the games but we’ll just have to manage him better,” coach Stuart Williams told local media.

Win and play New Zealand in the quarter finals - could be very ugly.

No disrespect to the UAE, but the West Indies should be able to win this one without Chris Gayle. Hopefully he'll be fit for the quarter-final if the team get there.

Lolz,Windies can win it without gayle,but with him they can win it big,and that is what they require now to leap up above Ire/pak.He makes hitting sixes look easy and we all know it.This surely will intimidate the oppn.He is also know to be a big performer against minnows.
