All-rounder? I don't think he has done much bowling in the last couple of years.

Just curious, how do you retire from a game for which you've only been picked occasionally, and last played over three years ago?

Well Simmons wasn't a regular in the West Indies test squad anyway and so he was already retired by the West Indies selectors. Just like Bravo and Pollard, Simmons was not seen as a test player by the selectors even  though I would like to disagree.
