I was starting to think that England may have the upper hand when Australia were going 3.5 runs per over after the first 20. However with Smith and Maxwell got going then Maxwell and Marsh freed the arms a bit and Maxwell started reserve sweeping every second ball. As you said Faulkner came in and added a bit more worry for England as Australia finish with 278 from their 50. Now England have faced the wrath of Mitchell Johnson, with 3 wickets in 3 overs. England are 50/4 with Bell, Ali, Morgan and Taylor back into the sheds. Root and Bopara steer England home? Unlikely I say !

It didn't look like a final for sure.It was even till ENgland had Aus on the mat at 60-4 but after that it was all one sided.Kudos to Maxx and Marsh for the brutal assaults.

Disappointing performance from England with the bat though not all that surprising. I am disappointed that some of the fringe players (Jordan, Hales and Tredwell) didn't see more action during this tri-series. I have seen more than enough of Woakes to determine he is not good enough.

It would have been nice to have carried some more momentum into the WC, especially as they have a tough start with opening matches against Australia and New Zealand.

Woeful!

Cardinal sin not to have completed the allotted overs.
