Breaking news. MS Dhoni has retired from test cricket effective immediately. Virat Kohli will captain India in the final test of their ongoing series against Australia.

With the World Cup just around the corner, I presume he'll continue playing one day cricket for now.

Yes .. I saw this earlier on this evening and not sure if I was surprised or not.

Either it was Dhoni acknowledging he was no longer up to the rigours of the 5 day game.........BUT I feel moreso pressure from the BCCI since he's lost the series!!!  guess they are as ruthless as Cricket Australia ...

I really like MS for lots of reasons...hope he captains the side in the WC  8)

MS has been much more effective in ODI's than Tests ........

His record in the longest form of the game was never as impressive as his one-day statistics.

In ODIs, Dhoni averages 52.85 and he is expected to captain his country at the 2015

Dhoni will rank as one of the great Indian players.

At least he knows when to sail off into the sunset; lots of others don't.

Good one day player , average test cricketer.

Folks , Captaincy strategy and decision making is not quantified in his 5 day stats !

MSD will continue to play ODI and milk the IPL till it dry!

who knows...he might be playing in CPL too now that he does not have to play test!  Tongue
