No Censorship on WICF!

Not now, not ever!

It's awfully tempting to try and muzzle and censor the thoughts, ideas, expressions and writings of those who offend us.

But if you censor and limit what that person says you limit my freedom to hear or read it.  And that to me is the greater crime.  I should be allowed to hear, see, or read the thoughts, writings, or expressions of everyone, especially from those that offends me because I should be free to refute it.

And I ask again the pertinent question when it comes to limiting freedom of speech and freedom of expression.  Who is qualified to arbitrate what I should or should not read?  Krish? Ketchim? George W. Bush? Stephen Harper? Hamid Karzai?

I agree with anything except racial slurs. A lot of people can't handle that.

Again Snoopster , you love to rattle off handles with real names.

Learn to separate Anonymous posters from real persons...thanks

Guys in life we have to deal with all sorts of challenges, some more real and immintent than others...anonymous posters are the least of our problems.

There are no limitations and exceptions (nor should there ever be) to freedom of speech and expression.  By definition, the very idea of freedom of speech and expression means absolute and unfettered.  Any limitation whatsoever and you might as well not those rights.

And while you're at it.  Lists and exhaust all the racial slurs you or anyone else finds offensive and "can't handle".  It's a bottomless pit.  And who will be the supreme arbitrator to decide which slurs are racially offensive?  You? Krish? Ketchim? Wulfman? Veebs?

There is really only one Rule: Don't be a Jackass.

There are many ways to be a Jackass, and we will detail the main ones here. This list is by no means definitive.

1. Racial abuse, race baiting. This is a multi-racial and multi-ethnic community and that reality must be respected. Derogatory references to any race, or race/ethnic/religious based insults are not acceptable. Posts that are deemed to be an attempt to stir up racial arguments are not acceptable. At best offenders may get a warning, but will most likely simply have their posting privileges abruptly removed. On the line is out.

ADDENDUM 2

Statements that could be construed as libel are jackassery.

Rest assured that in the event of legal action resulting from libel your name, IP address,

everything will be shared with the authorities.
