India PM Modi: Wife

Jashodaben was married to Narendra Modi when he was 17 :

but the couple have lived apart for many years  :-[

               

He has always avoided questions on his personal life amid suggestions he wished to

appear celibate to appeal to his core Hindu nationalist voter base. 

"I am the wife of the honourable prime minister of India,"

she wrote in her RTI application filed before the authorities in Mehsana district where she lives .

"I would like to know under what provisions of the law and the constitution of India

am I being provided protection ?

As wife of the prime minister what are the other benefits I am entitled to ? "  :-\

When he was Gujarat PM he lived alone in the Chief Minister mansion. I passed by it on my way to work frequently. The media made me believe he was single and celibate. Then I later found out he was actually married. I don't know why they live apart and, if they don't get along, why no divorce, but what does it matter I suppose.

Well even if he is gay and is just using this lady as a "bear" he'd hardly be the first to do so. Many gay politicains do that, especially in the states, because they think, and maybe they do have a point, that if the public knows they're gay, they won't win office.
