Henriques has backed fast bowler Doug Bollinger to return to the Australia team

Injured NSW captain Moises Henriques has backed fast bowler Doug Bollinger to return to the Australian Test team after an absence of four years.

Bollinger, 33, spent the off-season playing county cricket with Kent and impressed in Australia's T20 series win over South Africa and has already stated that he would like to return to the Test side for next year's Ashes series in England.

Henriques admitted after the way the Australian attack performed last summer it would be tough to break back into the side, but said if anyone went down with injury, Bollinger should be first in line for another chance.

"The bowling from Australia last summer in Test cricket was incredible," Henriques said. "Ryan Harris, Mitchell Johnson and Sidds all bowled well, so it is going to be tough for Doug to find his way back in if everyone is fit. But definitely if there are a couple of injuries he would be one of my first picked.

"He brings that dynamite and that x-factor to your team."

I'd rather see Cummins or Bird get the extra spot in the test lineup if available - they're considerably younger than Bollinger, and I'm not sure they need any more lefties in their pace attack.

I hoping Cummins fit this summer and he still have that pace.

James Pattinson, Pat Cummins, Jackson Bird, Nathan Coulter-Nile and Mitchell Starc are all better than Doug Bollinger but good on him going to play county cricket over the off season some of the younger quicks could learn a lot from him.

I'd rather see one of Cummins, Bird, Sayers, Pattinson or Cutting get the spot (pending fitness).
