Well, the spirit of the architect Burnham was evoked yesterday. Finding itself in a precarious jam, the PPPC pulled that act right out of Fat Boy's playbook.

I don't think that the President acted within the constitutional framework. What is really funny is that the PPPC has embraced a constitution, many parts of which they deemed un-democratic when they were the opposition. There is no doubt in the mind of any sane Guyanese that parts of the current constitution was strategically crafted by the "genius" LFS Burnham to endow upon himself limitless and unchallenged powers in event of occurrences like this one in question. Well, the spirit of the architect Burnham was evoked yesterday. Finding itself in a precarious jam, the PPPC pulled that act right out of Fat Boy's playbook.
A monument should be built and an holiday named to honor him. His vision has saved the PPPC from certain demise.

A power struggle is always behind it all.  ::LOL::

The " very young" Constitution of Guyana has remained in infancy since 1992 when the PPP refused to permit amendments that would've enabled the growth and strengthening of true principles of Democracy, coupled with the "denial of LGE" we can surmise that the intention of the PPP was to set themselves up to rule eventually without oversight all along.
Yesterday's proclamation was nothing less than a Constitutional Coup d'état.

Now they sit back and wait for us to become accustomed to living under a dictatorship as Chinese reality.
