* Bacchus was a tiger in the covers. Great fielder.

* He played in 19 tests but had a mediocre career---averaged only 26.06

* His only test hundred was his 250 against India---scored against Kapil Dev, Venkat and Chandresekhar.

You are right about his numbers but there was something about him, for me, when he walked in. Kalli had a similar effect except he was touch and class, SFAF seemed to ne then brutal.

He looked, strong, upright, and his bat, which looked wider than most for some reason, came through so straight.

In those days Guyana did churn out really good players. Some of the name that roll off my tongue are Etwaroo (think Romain), Steve Camacho, Len B, Kalli, lloyd, Kamhai, Ramnarace, Pydanna (a name I quite like for some strange reason Milton I believe) Gibbs etc.....

Tagenarine Brandon Chanderpaul will be the next great bat from Guyana. 8)
