Somebody should interview Shiv. I want to get his opinion on all of this. Either the bowlers were bothering him, or he is some kind of super-genius and he was deliberately batting slow in order to put Braffit at ease, thereby slowly and subconsciously guiding and mentoring Braffit to a double century.

Interesting and if true a genius, unselfish move.

However the way Shiv is portrayed by Rev is one who is egotistical, selfish only concerned about his own milestones and the precious not outs so he will bat slowly for fear of getting out.

So based on rev's portrayal of Shiv, I cannot see it as a genius move.

I do not know Shiv personally so I cannot make a personal judgement except what I assume from seeing him in the public domain and what I see is he is slow but that is who he is. What I see is a dedicated cricketer and servant whose appetite for batting is second to none. I also see him exposing the tail instead of farming the strike. Some may say he only does that when the game is all but lost, which is not quite true.

Shiv is Shiv and in Tests crease occupation is paramount but you have to switch gears so perhaps Tiger will have his gearbox repaired before the second test, without going crazy!

*Most cricket fans are illiterate when it comes to the mathematics of cricket. All they can do is ARGUE based on emotions.

Who just base his debates on stats. Its should be obvious to you, its more than just stats that should be taken into consideration. Look at the teams they played against and the composition of  those team players compared to today, they didn't play against Kenya, Bangladesh or a Zimbabwe team.

I think sports is mainly for entertainment for sure, unless you played or play that sport and genuinely love it. But either way I know we're all happy sports are around for whatever reason we watch.
